Recycling Workshops: Teens will learn what to recycle and how to go about setting up a recycling program at their home and/or school.
Citizen Science Projects: Become a scientist! Club members will participate various projects where we will go out and look for and count different types of animals, including doves, dragonflies and "sea"-gulls
Letter Writing Campaigns: With help from Museum staff, Club members will compose Letters In-support of Environmental Issues that concern them and then get other students in their school to sign copies before mailing them to our local elected officials.
In-Museum Studies: Club participants will learn the basics of plant and bug identification during workshops using real Museum specimens and with guidance from Museum experts.
Ecology Walks: Club participants will be encouraged to attend the monthly Ecology Walks offered by the Museum's Nature Section. On walks, teens will get to interact with and learn from experienced Naturalist.
Public Out-reach: Teens will be given the chance to present their work and efforts with a table display at various fairs and events around Staten Island and the City.
